How to Calculate the Total Landed Cost of a Custom EVA Case Order

Learn which costs can sit beyond the factory unit price, including tooling, samples, packaging, freight, duties and destination charges when planning an EVA case order.

The factory unit price is only one part of the cost of importing a custom EVA case.
Buyers who compare only the per-piece number can underestimate the real budget required to receive the goods.
A better comparison is the total landed cost based on one clearly defined shipping scenario.
Start With the Production Cost
Include the unit price multiplied by the confirmed quantity.
If there are different colors or variants, use the correct price for each production split.
One-time tooling or logo setup should be shown separately so repeat-order economics remain visible.
Add Development and Packaging Costs
Sample fees, tooling, custom labels, retail boxes, sleeves or special cartons may sit outside the basic case unit price.
Packaging can also change carton dimensions and therefore affect freight.
Add International Freight
Air, sea, courier and DDP services calculate cost differently.
Freight depends on shipment weight, volume, destination and service level.
For air shipments, volumetric weight can be more important than the actual scale weight.
Include Import and Destination Charges Where Applicable
Duties, taxes, customs clearance, terminal fees and local delivery depend on the trade term and destination.
Do not assume every DDP or door-to-door quote includes the same items.
Ask for the inclusions and exclusions in writing.
Build Two Budgets: First Order and Repeat Order
The first order may include sample and tooling costs that do not repeat.
A repeat order may have a very different cost structure if the specification remains unchanged.
Bravie Case recommends reviewing both numbers when evaluating a long-term project.
